Nicholas David OffermanĀ (born June 26, 1970) is an American actor. He became widely known for his role asĀ Ron SwansonĀ in theĀ NBCĀ sitcomĀ Parks and RecreationĀ (2009ā2015), for which he received theĀ Television Critics Association Award for Individual Achievement in Comedy and was twice nominated for theĀ Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.Ā
Offerman has also appeared in theĀ second seasonĀ of theĀ FXĀ seriesĀ FargoĀ (2015), for which he received a nomination for theĀ Critics' Choice Television Award, as well as theĀ FX on HuluseriesĀ Pam & TommyĀ (2022) and theĀ HBOĀ seriesĀ The Last of UsĀ (2023), for which he won theĀ Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series. He has acted in numerous independent films, includingĀ The Kings of SummerĀ (2013),Ā Me and Earl and the Dying GirlĀ (2015),Ā The FounderĀ (2016), andĀ Hearts Beat LoudĀ (2018).
Offerman's other work includes executive producing and starring in the filmĀ The House of TomorrowĀ (2017). He also played theĀ President of the United StatesĀ in the movieĀ Civil War(2024), directed byĀ Alex Garland. He voiced Agent Powers onĀ Gravity FallsĀ (2012ā2016) and has provided voice acting work forĀ The Lego MovieĀ franchiseĀ (2014ā2019),Ā Hotel Transylvania 2Ā (2015),Ā Ice Age: Collision CourseĀ (2016), and theĀ SingĀ film franchiseĀ (2016āpresent). He hostedĀ Have a Good Trip: Adventures in PsychedelicsĀ (2020).Ā
He began co-hosting the NBC reality competition seriesĀ Making ItĀ (2018ā2021) withĀ Parks and RecreationĀ co-starĀ Amy Poehler; the duo received three nominations for theĀ Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Competition Program.
