Aubrey Christina PlazaĀ (born June 26, 1984) is an American actress, comedian, and producer. As a teenager, she began acting in local theatre productions and performedĀ improvĀ andĀ sketch comedyĀ at theĀ Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. After graduating fromĀ New York University Tisch School of the Arts, Plaza made her feature film debut inĀ Mystery TeamĀ (2009). She gained wide recognition for her role asĀ April LudgateĀ on theĀ NBCĀ political satireĀ sitcomĀ Parks and Recreation (2009ā2015).
In film, Plaza had a supporting role inĀ Scott Pilgrim vs. the WorldĀ (2010) and a leading role inĀ Safety Not GuaranteedĀ (2012). From 2017 to 2019, Plaza portrayed theĀ Shadow KingĀ andĀ Lenny BuskerĀ in the critically praisedĀ FX superhero seriesĀ Legion and produced and starred in the 2017 black comedy filmsĀ The Little HoursĀ andĀ Ingrid Goes West. She also starred in the romantic comedyĀ Happiest SeasonĀ and thrillerĀ Black BearĀ (both 2020) and produced and played the title character in the crime filmĀ Emily the CriminalĀ (2022).
Plaza received a Primetime Emmy Award nominationĀ and aĀ Golden Globe AwardĀ for her role as a strait-laced lawyer in theĀ second seasonĀ of theĀ HBOĀ anthology seriesĀ The White Lotus (2022).Ā TimeĀ magazine named her one of theĀ 100 most influential people in the worldĀ in 2023. In 2024, she starred asĀ Rio VidalĀ in theĀ Marvel Cinematic UniverseĀ miniseriesĀ Agatha All Along.
